USDA Launches $35 Million Funding Opportunity for Date Production and Oasis Management in Southern Tunisia
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched a call for proposals for funding of up to $35 million to support date production and oasis management in southern Tunisia, as part of the 2024 Food for Progress program.
Objective
This initiative aims to promote climate-smart agriculture, strengthen trade, and improve food security.
Eligible Projects
Eligible projects include initiatives that:
- Enhance climate-resilient agriculture
- Improve sanitary and phytosanitary standards
- Foster innovation in local food systems
Funding
The total available funding is $220 million, with individual grants ranging from $20 to $35 million per project.
Eligibility
The program is open to government agencies, NGOs, universities, and private entities registered in the U.S. System for Award Management (SAM).
