Contract Signed for Second Phase of "Thamm" Project to Promote Holistic Governance of Labor Migration and Mobility in North Africa

A contract for the second phase of the "Thamm" project, aimed at promoting a holistic approach to labor migration and mobility governance in North Africa, was signed on May 31, 2024, between the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work (Aneti) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

According to a statement from the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment (MEFP), the project aims to strengthen regular and organized migration of Tunisians. To achieve this, the agreement provides for training and qualification sessions in German language and culture.

These initiatives aim to improve the employability of job seekers, facilitating their economic and social integration, whether in Tunisia or Germany.

The signing ceremony was attended by Abdelkader Jemmali, Chief of Cabinet of the MEFP, Manfred Horr, Regional Director of GIZ Tunisia/Libya, and Stephanie Schrade, Coordinator of the Cluster on Vocational Training, Labor Market, Migration, GIZ Tunisia.

Jemmali praised the quality and diversity of the joint cooperation programs, particularly in terms of expected results, which align with the strategic axes of the government's program for human resource development and improving youth employability.

The German side expressed appreciation for the excellence of Tunisian skills, recognizing their ability to contribute to the development of competitive capacities of economic enterprises.
