Amen Bank Reports Strong H1 2026 Results: Net Profit Up 23.7%

Amen Bank’s interim financial statements confirm the credit institution’s sustained profitability momentum. For the first six months of fiscal year 2026, the bank reported a net profit of 161.947 million Tunisian Dinars (MDT), up from 130.897 MDT in the same period of 2025, representing a 23.7% year-on-year increase.

Operational Performance Driven by Investment Portfolio Growth

The bank’s operational performance was primarily fueled by the expansion of its Net Banking Income (NBI), which reached a new milestone of 362.427 MDT, marking a 17.7% annual growth.

A detailed breakdown of operating revenue highlights the decisive role played by the investment portfolio. Revenues from this activity surged by 32.7%, reaching 189.310 MDT.

Prudent Risk Management and Liquidity Position

On the risk front, net provisions for loan losses amounted to 57.800 MDT, compared to 52.178 MDT in the first half of 2025. Amen Bank maintains a prudent coverage profile:

  • Provisioning rate for classified loans: 72.21% (63.99% excluding reserved interest).
  • Classified loan ratio: Contained at 8.70% of the total portfolio.

Regarding liquidity, the institution has strengthened its operational flexibility. Its short-term Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) stands at 163.0%, significantly exceeding the regulatory minimum threshold of 100% set by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Compliance with New Micro-Financing Regulations

Following the issuance of Decree No. 2026-148 dated July 23, 2026, concerning honor-based micro-financing, Amen Bank has formally recognized an off-balance sheet financing commitment of 19.892 MDT. This amount corresponds exactly to the mandatory 8% share of the 2025 fiscal year results.

Market Outlook and Shareholder Value

The bank’s strong performance is expected to satisfy shareholders. On the stock market, Amen Bank’s shares are significantly outperforming the Tunindex. Analysts consider it one of the best banking investments in recent years.
