Algeria and Tunisia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Strategic Partnership
Algeria and Tunisia have reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen their strategic partnership during the visit of Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti to Algiers. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized the need for an ambitious action plan to develop bilateral cooperation in priority sectors, in order to achieve common ambitions in terms of development, solidarity, and security.
During his exchanges with Tebboune, Mohamed Ali Nafti stressed the importance of the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries, while reaffirming Tunisia's commitment to strengthening this partnership. Prior to meeting the President, the Tunisian Minister had held discussions with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, focusing on consolidating cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, food and water security, transportation, and irregular migration.
It is worth noting that since 2021, Algeria and Tunisia have entered a new phase of cooperation, signing several agreements in various fields, including justice, environment, energy, fishing, start-ups, pharmaceutical industry, and border zone development, with the aim of expanding and solidifying their partnership for the mutual benefit of both nations.
