Toulouse-Based Startup Revolutionizes Agronomy with DeepTech Platform
The Toulouse-based startup has designed EX2A, a DeepTech platform that enables the simulation and optimization of agronomic practices before a single seed is sown. Founded in September 2025 and based in Toulouse, Agri Safe is tackling one of the structural challenges of modern agronomy: how to test new practices without risking crops, wasting water, and mobilizing costly resources on the ground?
The Solution: Digital Twins and IoT
The startup's response relies on digital twins combined with IoT within its EX2A platform, which stands for Augmented Agronomic Experience. The principle is to create a digital replica of a farm, then freely simulate irrigation, fertilization, and crop management scenarios in a fully virtual environment.
"Research teams can evaluate the effectiveness and profitability of agronomic practices without mobilizing physical resources or risking an impact on real crops," says Mohamed Mekki Maalej, Founder of Agri Safe.
Real-World Applications
Agri Safe is not limited to the virtual world. Its IriX application is already piloting irrigation and fertirrigation for over 500 hectares in real-world conditions. The embedded artificial intelligence, based on the SHAP method, analyzes millions of data combinations in real-time: soil humidity, network pressure, agronomic data, and weather forecasts. It provides automated recommendations and explains the scientific factors behind each decision.
European Ambitions
The ambition is clearly European. Agri Safe is working to build a large-scale network of digital agricultural twins. To achieve this, the startup is seeking to raise €200,000 in capital, which will complement a global investment plan of €420,000, partially supported by non-dilutive levers.
With its innovative approach, Agri Safe is poised to revolutionize the field of agronomy and make a significant impact on the future of sustainable agriculture.
