Senegal Unveils "Project Senegal Vision 2050" to Achieve Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Nation
The government of Senegal has launched its national transformation agenda, dubbed "Project Senegal Vision 2050", on Monday, October 14, 2024, with the aim of transitioning towards a "sovereign, just, and prosperous nation, deeply rooted in solid values".
This project is structured around four major strategic axes, introducing new economic measures and aiming to strengthen national cohesion, among other initiatives.
During the presentation of this agenda on the government's Jubbanti platform, President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, emphasized that "Senegal 2050: National Transformation Agenda" goes beyond a simple strategic document.
He stated that "this project illustrates our willingness to break with past patterns and overcome the challenges we have faced for too long, to emerge as a nation resolutely turned towards the future". The Senegalese Head of State also recalled: "We have inherited a complex situation, marked by decades of economic dependence, fragile governance, and a weakened social fabric".
