Tunisia Participates in AfroSicilia 2026
Tunisia took part in AfroSicilia 2026, a meeting dedicated to economic cooperation between Africa and Sicily, held on May 26 in Monreale. The event brought together institutional, diplomatic, and economic representatives from several African countries, as well as actors from the Italian private sector.
Participants and Discussions
Alongside delegations from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Zambia, Tunisian representatives participated in exchanges on cooperation prospects in various sectors, including:
- Agro-food
- Renewable energies
- Infrastructure
- Innovative technologies
The Tunisian delegation included Consul of Tunisia in Palermo, Mohamed Ali Mahjoub, as well as representatives from FIPA-Tunisia and Cepex in Milan. During the discussions, participants explored possibilities for developing partnerships between African and Italian companies and ways to promote investments on both sides of the Mediterranean.
Presentation of Tunisia's Investment Environment
Speaking at the meeting, the representative of FIPA-Tunisia presented the characteristics of Tunisia's investment environment, highlighting the country's:

- Openness to international markets
- Available skills in several industrial and service sectors
Opportunities for Collaboration
The exchanges also focused on opportunities for collaboration between Tunisian and Sicilian economic operators, particularly in activities related to:
- Industrial transformation
- Agro-food
- High-value-added sectors
Business Meetings and Cooperation
In parallel with the working sessions, several business meetings allowed companies to identify common areas of interest and explore new possibilities for commercial cooperation. This participation finally offered FIPA-Tunisia the opportunity to:
- Promote investment opportunities in Tunisia to present partners
- Present the main economic events planned in the country over the next few months
