Africa's Business Heroes 2024: Empowering Entrepreneurs Across the Continent
The Africa's Business Heroes (ABH) 2024 program, a flagship philanthropic initiative of the Jack Ma Foundation in Africa, aims to support entrepreneurs across the continent. The program's mission is to identify and develop local talents who have a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
Apply Now: Deadline June 9, 2024
The application period for the 2024 edition is now open until June 9, 2024. Entrepreneurs from all 54 African countries, across all sectors and ages, are eligible to apply. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be the founder or co-founder of a formally registered business
- Have a business headquarters in an African country
- Have a three-year business history
Prizes and Benefits
Each year, the ABH competition selects ten "business heroes" from across Africa, who share a prize pool of $1.5 million in the form of grants ranging from $100,000 to $300,000. The prizes are awarded as follows:
- 1st prize: $300,000
- 2nd prize: $250,000
- 3rd prize: $150,000
- 7 other finalists: $100,000 each
In addition to the financial prizes, all finalists will join an exclusive community of entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, and mentors who share similar values. They will also have access to a series of customized training programs, including financial management, marketing, intellectual property rights, and more. Furthermore, they will have opportunities to network and receive support to further their professional careers.
