Tunisian Parliament Approves Two Organic Law Projects Concerning Africa50 Foundation Status

The Assembly of the People's Representatives approved two organic law projects related to the status of the Africa50 Foundation today.

According to the ARP's press release published on July 16, the projects include Law No. 44/2024 on the statutes of the Africa50 Foundation - Project Financing, and Law No. 43/2024 related to the Africa50 Foundation - Project Development.

In fact, Africa50 is an investment platform created in 2014 by African governments and the African Development Bank to bridge the infrastructure financing gap in Africa. It aims to mobilize financing from both public and private sectors, facilitate project development, and invest in infrastructure across the continent.

Africa50 stands out by prioritizing medium- and large-scale projects with a significant impact on Africa's development while offering attractive returns to investors.

It is worth noting that Africa50 prioritizes investments in the energy, transportation, ICT, intermediate gas, and emerging sectors such as fintech, health, and education.

It is also worth recalling that Tunisia joined Africa50 in 2017, thereby strengthening its commitment to sustainable infrastructure development in Africa.
