Afreximbank Raises ¥81.3 Billion (USD 530 Million) through Successful Samurai Bond Issuance
The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has announced that it has successfully raised ¥81.3 billion (approximately USD 530 million) through the issuance of "Samurai" bonds.
This marks a significant milestone for the African bank, as it represents the first-ever Samurai bond issuance by a multilateral development bank based in Africa. Samurai bonds are yen-denominated bonds issued by non-domestic entities on the Japanese market.
