Tunisian Economy Minister Highlights Strategic Importance of Small Enterprises


At the annual conference of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (Afcm) held in Tunis on May 13-14, 2025, Economy and Planning Minister Samir Abdelhafidh delivered a speech emphasizing the strategic importance of small enterprises in the national economic fabric.

Small Enterprises: Essential Actors in the Economic System


The minister stressed that these institutions play a fundamental role as essential actors in the economic system, and as such, the Tunisian government has committed to developing a national strategy aimed at their growth.

This strategy aims to create an environment conducive to initiative and investment, and facilitating access to financing, ensuring the sustainability of small enterprises and reinforcing their contribution to job creation.

Integrating SMEs into the Financial Circuit


The minister insisted on the need to better integrate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the financial circuit, particularly through innovative tools adapted to their needs and stage of development.

Strengthening Arab and African Financial Market Cooperation


Abdelhafidhfidh also advocated for strengthening cooperation between Arab and African financial markets, highlighting that this collaboration would enable the exchange of know-how, technologies, and innovative financial products.

Economic and Financial Reforms: A Pillar for Building a Resilient Economy


The minister finally recalled that economic and financial reforms constitute an essential pillar for building a resilient and inclusive economy, emphasizing their role in mobilizing savings, establishing trust, and guaranteeing financial stability.
