Tunis-Carthage International Airport to Undergo Ambitious Expansion
During a joint plenary session dedicated to examining the 2025 budget of his ministry, Transport Minister Rachid Amri unveiled an ambitious plan to extend Tunis-Carthage International Airport with the construction of a new air terminal. This project aims to meet the growing needs of air transport in Tunisia.
The new terminal, adjacent to the current one, will cover an area of 80,000 square meters and will be able to accommodate up to 8 million passengers per year, significantly increasing the airport's capacity. According to Amri, preliminary studies necessary for the implementation of this project are already underway.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Transport is working on developing a new civil aviation code, designed to respond to the rapid evolution of the sector. This project aims to modernize the regulation, bringing it in line with international standards.
