Turkish Manufacturer Aksa Composites to Invest $5 Million in Tunisia
The Turkish manufacturer Aksa Composites, a subsidiary of the Akkök group, plans to establish a production unit in Borj Cédria, with an investment of $5 million. Announced on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Aerospace Meetings Tunisia, this project marks the company's first industrial implantation in Africa, specializing in composite materials for the aerospace and advanced technology sectors.

On the sidelines of this announcement, Jalel Tebib, Director General of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia), indicated that other foreign companies have also expressed interest in investing in Tunisia, particularly through projects to expand their activities, with announcements expected soon.

The head of FIPA-Tunisia also presented an overview of the Tunisian aerospace sector, which is experiencing sustained growth. With double-digit growth, the sector now includes more than 85 active companies and employs over 20,000 people. This performance is based on a structured industrial ecosystem around several centers of excellence, including El Mghira in Ben Arous, as well as Sousse, Soliman, and other regions. According to Jalel Tebib, Tunisia benefits from several competitive advantages, including its strategic geographical position in the heart of the Mediterranean, its proximity to Europe, and its qualified human resources.

Stefania Sonia Dallali, President of the Groupement des Industries Tunisiennes Aéronautiques et Spatiales (GITAS), welcomed the dynamic of the sector and Aksa Composites' decision to invest in Tunisia.
