Adidas Originals Reinvents Balletcore with Taqwa Bint Ali

For several seasons, balletcore has been an unstoppable trend, blending the elegance of ballet with a contemporary aesthetic. To reinvent this trend, Adidas Originals has chosen to collaborate with Franco-Tunisian artistic director Taqwa Bint Ali. Her unique vision gives birth to a collection where art, elegance, and functionality intersect.

Taqwa Bint Ali, known for her collaborations with Levi's, Fendi, and Jean Paul Gaultier, unveiled her work on her Instagram account. She shared her pride in highlighting "women in their plurality," a central theme in her artistic approach. The campaign, photographed in Zarzis, Tokyo, and Paris, captures this diversity and celebrates places close to her heart. "I wanted my vision for this project to apply to all groups of girls, especially in these cities. I'm truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with exceptional women, both in front of and behind the camera, from the design process to the production of the images," she confided.

Inspired by ballet, the collection features creations that combine delicate textures like muslin and silk, pastel hues, and innovative cuts. Among the standout pieces, the Megaride Mary-Jane, featuring a velcro closure, stands out for its minimalist elegance and will be available in limited edition starting January 22. The Adistar Pose, with its XXL laces reminiscent of dance shoes, is also among the successful models.

This collaboration highlights Taqwa Bint Ali's ability to transcend cultural and stylistic boundaries. Under her direction, Adidas Originals doesn't just follow trends, but redefines them, offering a collection that brings together the elegance of ballet and the energy of modern streetwear.
