ADAPT Program: Supporting Investments in Agriculture, Fishing, and Aquaculture
The ADAPT program, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) with the World Food Program (WFP), has launched its third call for proposals for the ADAPT Investment Support Fund. With a budget of 8 million euros, this initiative aims to encourage private investments in agriculture, fishing, and aquaculture, as well as in associated value chains, to strengthen more resilient, inclusive, and environmentally friendly agri-food systems.
Challenges Facing Tunisian Sectors
In the face of economic, climate, and social transformations, Tunisian sectors must overcome numerous challenges, including:
- Pressure on water resources
- Variability in yields
- Fragmentation of farms
- Low mechanization
- Limited access to financing
The ADAPT Investment Fund supports private actors in designing and implementing sustainable projects, modernizing production and processing tools, diversifying activities, and supporting the country's ecological transition while creating local jobs.
