Abu Dhabi Launches Autonomous Delivery Vehicle Pilot Program

Abu Dhabi has launched a pilot program for autonomous delivery vehicles in Masdar City, marking a significant step forward in the development of the city's smart and sustainable mobility. The project is overseen by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and the Smart Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), and is part of Abu Dhabi's strategy to have 25% of all trips made using intelligent transport solutions by 2040. The vehicles, developed by K2's subsidiary Autogo, use artificial intelligence and autonomous navigation systems to deliver orders without human intervention. The pilot program aims to test the effectiveness of these vehicles in a real urban environment, reduce carbon emissions, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve last-mile delivery. This launch represents a step towards larger-scale commercial deployment and demonstrates Abu Dhabi's commitment to integrating emerging technologies into its infrastructure to build smarter and more sustainable cities.
