Reduction of Customs Duties on Eyewear Products
The Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) adopted on December 2, 2025, the additional article 86 of the 2026 finance bill, which aims to reduce customs duties on eyewear products. The vote resulted in 60 "yes", 11 abstentions, and 30 "no" votes.

The targeted issue is the high cost of optical equipment (glasses, frames, lenses) for Tunisian consumers, as well as the competitiveness of local businesses or importers operating in this sector.
