STEG Consolidates Presence in Southern Tunisia with New Service Agency
The STEG has strengthened its presence in southern Tunisia with the opening of a new service agency in Douz. This agency is responsible for managing an electrical network of 913 kilometers, comprising 639 km of low-voltage lines and 274 km of high-voltage lines, serving nearly 24,400 customers.
Key Features of the New Agency
- The new infrastructure aims to improve service proximity and enhance the company's intervention capacity in an area that includes three delegations: Douz, El Faouar, and Rjim Maatoug.
- The agency has a staff of 17 agents and executives, ensuring operational monitoring of a territory covering 85 kilometers.
- It relies on a fleet of 149 electrical transformation posts, including aerial and cabin posts.
Economic Development and Energy Supply
Beyond managing subscriptions and technical interventions, this new agency represents a key factor in regional economic development. The Douz region, known for its agricultural activity and Saharan tourist potential, depends on a reliable energy supply to support farms, local businesses, and investment projects.

Inauguration of the Agency
The agency was inaugurated on July 11, 2026, in the presence of the Governor of Kébili, Moez Laabidi, and the CEO of STEG, Fayçal Trifa, along with several central and regional officials of the company.
