Tunisian Automotive Association to Host 9th Ordinary General Assembly

The Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA) will hold its 9th Ordinary General Assembly, a key meeting for major players in the Tunisian automotive sector. This annual gathering will provide an opportunity to review the achievements of 2024 and present the strategic orientations that will accompany the development of the sector.

At the heart of this edition, TAA members and partners will share the association's notable achievements and those of its members, as well as current and future activities and perspectives. The day will continue with a side event titled "Driving Responsibility: The Future of Tunisian Automotive Supply Chains," organized in collaboration with The Responsible Supply Chain Initiative (RSCI). This event will highlight the challenges and opportunities related to responsible supply chains, a key topic for the sustainable competitiveness of the Tunisian automotive industry.

Today, the Tunisian automotive sector represents nearly 80% of the country's industrial exports, with an estimated turnover of 4 billion dinars by the end of 2025, contributing around 4% to the national GDP. The sector comprises approximately 300 companies and employs over 100,000 people, including between 12,000 and 15,000 specialized engineers. This growth is driven by targeted Research & Development initiatives, particularly on projects focused on driver assistance systems, predictive maintenance, and intelligent mobility platforms, which are encouraging the establishment of new international subsidiaries in Tunisia.

The global automotive industry is undergoing an accelerated transformation, driven by the electrification of vehicles, connected mobility, and the increasing integration of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and software. Thanks to its software engineering skills and innovation initiatives, Tunisia is affirming its place in this global evolution.

With this assembly, the TAA is reiterating its vision of positioning Tunisia as a sustainable and competitive automotive hub, driving technological innovation, highly qualified jobs, and high standards of responsibility throughout the supply chain. The event will also be an opportunity to officially sign structuring partnership agreements with the RSCI and the Tunisian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), aiming to strengthen economic cooperation focused on technological and environmental impact for the Tunisian automotive sector.

The TAA continues its efforts to promote the entire automotive value chain in Tunisia. Following its recent presence at major international events such as the IAA Mobility show in Munich, the E-Mobility Show in Uganda, and the IATF in Algiers, the association is consolidating Tunisia's geostrategic position on the African and European scenes. These participations support the dynamic attraction of investments, the development of technological partnerships, and contribute to the acceleration of the growth of Tunisian industrial sites, recognized as innovative and pioneering actors in the region.
