This Saturday, October 26, 2024, 993 social housing units were handed over to beneficiaries as part of the "Riyadh Residence" project, located in the El Bokri neighborhood, in the delegation of Sidi Thabet, Ariana governorate.
The Minister of Equipment and Housing presided over the ceremony, which was attended by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia, the Director of Operations for North Africa at the Saudi Development Fund, and several Tunisian and Saudi officials.
With a total value of 122 million dinars, this project is jointly financed by the Tunisian state and the Saudi Development Fund as part of a specific program for social housing. In total, it comprises 1,568 social housing units, with 993 units already allocated to new residents.
The housing units are distributed across six residences of type (R+4), comprising 62 buildings with apartments of type (S+1) measuring 50 m² and (S+2) measuring 75 m². The project also includes health infrastructure, educational facilities, sports facilities, green spaces, and eight electrical transformers to supply energy to the area.
The Minister reminded attendees that applications are still open for the remaining housing units in the "Riyadh Residence" project. A regional commission, under the supervision of the Governor of Ariana, will establish the final list of beneficiaries, and the distribution of housing units will continue in other regions of the country.
