7th Global Sea Forum: France's Ambassador to the Mediterranean Shares Key Insights
The 7th edition of the Global Sea Forum, held on September 13, provided an opportunity for Karim Amellal, France's Ambassador to the Mediterranean, to share essential reflections.
According to Amellal, this forum serves as a platform for exchange and encounter to discuss the region's fundamental challenges, particularly climate change, and to develop concrete solutions.
Amellal emphasized that global warming represents the primary environmental challenge, with the Mediterranean warming 20% faster than the rest of the world. This observation necessitates swift action to find adapted solutions.
Regarding the common challenges between France and Tunisia, Amellal mentioned climate, training, and economy, highlighting that Tunisia is a strategic hub for Europe, particularly for France.
He also mentioned the Maghreb Fund, endowed with 100 million euros, aimed at French companies wishing to invest in Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. This fund aims to create value and jobs, both in France and Tunisia, and constitutes a win-win tool.
