Ministry of Transport Announces Measures for the 2025-2026 School, University, and Vocational Training Year

The Ministry of Transport has announced a series of measures in preparation for the 2025-2026 school, university, and vocational training year. During two meetings held on Monday, August 18, 2025, the Minister of Transport met with national and regional transport company executives and regional directors to ensure the availability of the fleet and examine practical solutions to facilitate the transportation of students, pupils, and trainees.

The Minister emphasized the need for rigorous management of the existing fleet, while announcing its reinforcement with new acquisitions. Among these, 418 buses will be added, with the majority allocated to regions, to respond to the real needs of each area and ensure a better balance between supply and demand. A call was also made for better coordination with regional authorities to adapt transport schedules to school and university timetables, guaranteeing the regularity and fluidity of journeys.

The Minister stressed the importance of preserving the public transport service, calling for action against vandalism and strengthening awareness campaigns. He also placed road safety at the heart of priorities, inviting concerned services to identify black spots on roads and implement measures to reduce accident risks.

The meeting with regional directors also allowed for an assessment of the functioning of local transport services. The Minister encouraged these structures to fully play their role as a driving force and submit solutions adapted to the social, economic, and territorial specificities of different regions, with a view to improving the quality of the public service.
