President Kaïs Saïed Slams Public Asset Sales, Accuses Networks of Enriching Themselves at the Expense of National Resources
President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed has strongly criticized public asset sales, accusing networks of enriching themselves at the expense of national resources.
A recent auction of 37 tractors for a total of 167,000 dinars has caught his attention, highlighting the blatant undervaluation of such assets for the benefit of private interests.
During his visit to Henchir Chaâl on October 30, Kaïs Saïed described these practices as "organized looting" carried out by actors who, in his opinion, take advantage of the system to divert public assets.
According to several sources, the President has promised to wage a fight on all fronts to defend strategic agricultural domains like Henchir Chaâl, which he believes are threatened by illegal appropriation attempts.
The accusations are severe: around 4,000 olive trees are said to have been uprooted, and manipulations of harvest quantities are allegedly underway to falsify the value of auctions, influenced by powerful lobbies.
Furthermore, the use of administrative vehicles for personal purposes is, for the President, a sign of the widespread drift of certain practices.
Kaïs Saïed has emphasized the responsibility of each actor in the management of national resources, warning that those who have embezzled even a single dinar of public funds will have to face all the consequences.
