Car Price Cap Leads to Withdrawal of Three Automobile Dealerships in Tunisia

Due to the price cap of 35,000 dinars on popular cars, three automobile dealerships have decided to stop importing and selling these vehicles in Tunisia, revealed Ibrahim Debbache, President of the Chamber of Syndicates of Automobile Dealerships and Manufacturers.

During his intervention on Diwan FM on November 20, 2024, Debbache explained that traditionally, around ten dealerships imported approximately 10,000 popular cars per year.

However, for the year 2024, only six to seven dealerships introduced around 7,000 vehicles, a significant gap caused by the price restriction imposed by the government.

In response to this situation, import quotas have been adjusted to try to meet the target of 10,000 popular cars, although some dealerships were unable to import models whose prices exceed 35,000 dinars.

Regarding the year 2025, Debbache specified that no revision had yet been made to the import quotas.
