Tunisia and Germany Strengthen Technical Cooperation with Two Major Infrastructure Projects
Tunisia and Germany are reinforcing their technical cooperation with the implementation of two major projects in the field of quality infrastructure, each valued at €1.5 million, to be carried out between 2024 and 2027.
These projects focus on improving quality and production, as well as developing green hydrogen, thereby supporting sustainable economic growth.
The initiatives were announced during a conference held in Tunis, under the presidency of the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy. The event brought together German representatives, including the German Embassy, the German National Metrology Institute (PTB), and Tunisian partners such as the Utica Federation and Conect, as well as industrial sector actors.
The Minister highlighted that these projects align with the national strategy for industry and energy by 2035, aiming to enhance Tunisian industrial competitiveness in the face of ecological, technical, and digital challenges.
The development of quality infrastructure is presented as a crucial lever to improve enterprise productivity, facilitate access to new markets, and ensure consumer safety while preserving the environment.
The implementation of these programs will be ensured by the General Directorate of Industrial and Technological Infrastructures of the Ministry in collaboration with the German PTB.
They aim to enhance the capacities of Tunisian structures in terms of analysis, standards, and certifications, with a focus on industrial metrology, conformity assessment, and the creation of new services for sector enterprises.
