Microsoft Invests $3 Billion in India to Boost AI and Cloud Capabilities
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, has announced a $3 billion investment (approximately 9,577 TND) in the AI and cloud capabilities of its Azure platform, located in India.
Microsoft is not the first tech giant to invest in India, as companies like Nvidia and Meta have preceded it. The country is considered a growing market, with a population of nearly 1.4 billion people and some of the most affordable internet access in the world (3rd globally).
As part of its expansion project, Microsoft plans to train 10 million Indians in AI by 2030. The tech giant has allocated a budget of $80 billion for investment by 2025, with the majority going towards developing data centers in the United States to train AI models and develop AI-based applications on the cloud.
