Carthage Film Festival 2024: Record Number of Tunisian Films Selected for Official Competition
The selection committee of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) 2024 has announced the list of Tunisian films that will be presented in the official selection.
Published on Monday, November 4, on the festival's Facebook page, this list highlights a record total of 25 Tunisian works, divided into several competitive sections.
The 35th edition of the JCC will take place from December 14 to 21, 2024, at the City of Culture, with screenings in different halls of the capital.
This year, the festival introduces two new sections, including a national competition for feature and short films, both fiction and documentary.
The winner of this competition will receive a special trophy and a financial prize of 15,000 dinars, in addition to other awards offered by the festival's partners.
The official selection includes an Arab and African competition, as well as a new section titled "Horizons of Tunisian Cinema". Another section, "Ciné-promesses", is dedicated to films made by students from Arab and African film schools.
Furthermore, the Panorama 35 section will present films that have not yet been screened in theaters, including seven Tunisian works from the 2023 edition, which was cancelled in solidarity with Palestine.
