€50 Million Financing Agreement Signed to Modernize National Civil Protection Bureau
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a €50 million financing agreement, equivalent to approximately 169 million Tunisian dinars, was signed between Samir Abdelhafidh, Minister of Economy and Planning, and Cécile Couprie, Head of the French Development Agency for North Africa. This agreement aims to support a modernization program for the National Civil Protection Bureau.
Program Objectives
The program includes the construction of a new main building and the implementation of a modernized alert and intervention management system.
The project also aims to enhance the capacity to respond to major natural disasters by increasing the presence of specialized civil protection units in different regions of the country.
Capacity Building and Training
The financing agreement also provides for a component to strengthen the skills of personnel through practical training. To this end, a dedicated training center located in Zriba will benefit from modernization and extension works.
