National Commission Approves Financing for Four Agricultural Projects Worth 14 Million Dinars

The National Commission for Granting Advantages to the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA) has approved the financing of four investment projects in the fishing, aquaculture, and agriculture sectors, totaling 14 million dinars (Mtnd). These projects, to be implemented in the governorates of Sfax, Monastir, and Siliana, aim to strengthen infrastructure and stimulate production in these key sectors of the Tunisian economy.

These investments are part of a strategy to modernize agriculture and aquaculture while creating job opportunities in the concerned regions. In parallel, the commission also validated five land credits, worth a total of 720,700 dinars, for young farmers to acquire land in the governorate of Kasserine. This initiative aims to encourage young people to settle in the agricultural sector and revitalize rural areas.

However, the Tunisian agricultural sector is going through a difficult period. According to the latest statistical bulletin from the APIA, private agricultural investments have decreased over the first eleven months of 2024. In fact, 2,346 investment operations were approved, representing a total value of 334.4 million dinars (Mtnd), a decrease of 3.9% in the number of operations and 12.8% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.
