HR Awards HREDD 2024 Celebrate Tunisian Companies' Commitment to Human Rights and Sustainability

Organized by the Association of Training and Human Resources Management Professionals in Enterprises (Arforghe) as part of the Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS), the HR Awards HREDD 2024 ceremony took place on November 29 in Tunis, recognizing the excellence of Tunisian companies in their commitment to human rights and sustainability.

This 11th edition of the HR Awards highlighted pioneering companies in ethical global supply chain management. The top winners of this year's awards include:

  • Coficab, winner of the 1st prize
  • Dräxlmaier Tunisia and BIC Bizerte, ex aequo for the 2nd prize
  • Rosenberger, recipient of the 3rd prize

These distinctions reflect the sustained efforts of these companies to align their strategies with principles of transparent governance, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability.

A rigorous audit process, conducted among 14 companies across 26 Tunisian governorates, preceded the selection of the winners. This process, which began on September 8, examined four main axes:

  • Human Resources, where a 93% commitment rate was recorded, demonstrating a solid mastery of fundamental practices.
  • Social and Societal Responsibility, with a score of 84%, indicating room for improvement, particularly in combating workplace harassment.
  • Transparent Governance, which scored 83%, signaling efforts to be reinforced in terms of transparency.
  • Environment and Sustainable Development, where companies stood out with a rate of 89%, thanks to initiatives respectful of ecological regulations.

Mohamed Rouached, an expert in human resources strategies, presented these results during the ceremony, emphasizing the need to exploit the recommendations from the audits to make further progress.

The audited Tunisian companies distinguish themselves with modern systems, a willingness to improve their governance, and a methodical approach to risk management. However, challenges persist, including talent diversification, salary equity, digital tool modernization, and strengthening local partnerships.

The HR Awards HREDD initiative, supported by GIZ-Tunisia and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), encourages companies to combine economic growth with social responsibility. It marks a further step towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and competitive Tunisian economy on an international scale.
