Tunisian Parliament Approves $100 Million Loan Agreement with Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development
The Tunisian People's Representatives Assembly (ARP) approved, on Wednesday, July 31, a loan agreement with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (FADES) worth 10 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 100 million Tunisian dinars).
The agreement, concluded on May 22, 2024, aims to finance an integrated agricultural development project in the Oued Tassa basin, in the Kef governorate.
The project comprises several components, including:
- Protecting agricultural lands against erosion
- Hydraulic agricultural development
- Flood protection for plains
- Forest development
- Agricultural track development
- Potable water supply
- Development of value chains and systems
- Support for small, sustainable, and income-generating agricultural projects.
