National Agency for Energy Management Launches Call for Interest for Energy Audits in Tunisian Hotels

The National Agency for Energy Management (ANME), in collaboration with the USAID Power Tunisia program and the Tunisian Federation of Hotels (FTH), has launched a call for interest for energy audits in approximately 100 hotels in Tunisia.

This initiative aims to help hotel establishments optimize their energy consumption, reduce costs, and improve their energy efficiency.

Tunisia, having ratified the Paris Agreement in 2016, has set ambitious goals for 2030: reducing primary energy consumption by 30% and increasing the share of renewable energies to 35%.

The hotel sector, which accounts for 25% of building energy consumption, is particularly targeted to achieve these objectives and promote environmental sustainability.

Important Deadline: Interested Tunisian hotels must submit their application by August 31, 2024, via email to deeb@anme.tn.

Selection Criteria: Applications will be examined based on several criteria, including:

  • Hotel surface area
  • Turnover over the past few years
  • Energy consumption
  • Equipment in place

Selected hotels will be required to complete a detailed form, providing information on their energy consumption, energy equipment used, and compliance with environmental standards.

Benefits: The selected hotels will benefit from a free energy audit, enabling them to implement an action plan to manage their energy consumption and access grants from the Energy Transition Fund (FTE).
