Investment Dynamics in Tunisia: A Positive Trend

The year 2025 has seen a significant surge in declared investments in the services sector. According to data from the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation, these investments have increased by 51.5%, rising from 1,113.9 MTND in 2024 to 1,687.8 MTND in 2025. This performance is accompanied by a substantial increase in the number of declared projects, which have reached 15,283, representing a 34% growth compared to the previous year. The potential creation of jobs stands at 58,720 opportunities, a 68.1% increase year-over-year.

Key Drivers of Growth

The dynamism of the sector is primarily driven by non-industry-related services, which have seen a spectacular growth of 53.9% in investments and now account for 83% of the total. Employment in this category has more than doubled, with a 113.6% increase to 40,585 jobs.

Investment Breakdown

Tunisian promoters have accounted for 92% of the sector's investments, with a 62.2% increase in their funding, reaching 1,553.8 MTND. In contrast, the share of foreign investments remains modest, representing only 4.4% of the total.

Regional Analysis

The regional analysis reveals significant disparities. The governorate of Tunis stands out with a 59.1% increase in investments (320.2 MTND). Interior regions such as Gafsa, Sidi Bouzid, and Tozeur have also seen spectacular growth in investment value, indicating a potential beginning of territorial rebalancing. On the other hand, other regions like Mahdia or Zaghouan have recorded worrying declines.

Conclusion

This performance is a positive signal for the Tunisian economy, demonstrating the country's ability to develop high-value-added activities. However, efforts are still needed to strengthen the attractiveness of foreign investments and support lagging regions.
